Exam takes 2.5 days. • Day one: MPT and Multi-State Essay Examination • Day two: MBE
• Business Organizations (corporations, partnerships, agency and master-servant relationships) • Commercial Transactions (covering the U.C.C., but not the general subject of contracts and not matters relating to warranties under product liability, which may be covered under other headings) • Criminal Law and Procedure (may include constitutional law as it applies to criminal law and procedure) • Constitutional Law (Arkansas and federal, but not relating to criminal law and procedure) • Torts (including product liability) • Property (real property and/or personal property, but not emphasizing the U.C.C. and other questions covered primarily by "Commercial Transactions") • Wills, Estates, Trusts (not covering taxation questions, but may include guardianship of both the person and the estate) • Evidence • Practice and Procedure (may include both state and federal trial and appellate practice and, where applicable, remedies and choice of forum) • Equity and Domestic Relations
Answers to each essay and MPT question will be graded on a scale ranging from 65 to 85 (the "raw" score). The raw score for each MPT question will be multiplied by 1.5 and totaled, and added to the sum of the raw scores from the essay questions to yield a "total written raw" score.
The total written raw scores are scaled using the same mean and standard deviation as the applicants' MBE. The scaled total written raw score is called the "written scale" score.
An applicant may use a written scale score that corresponds to a total written raw score of 825 or more in the immediately succeeding examination only.
Formula to determine an applicant's total examination score: total score = (written scale score x 2) + MBE scale score
