Wisconsin Bar Exam Information

ABOUT THE BAR EXAM

The essay portion of the exam will be given on Tuesday. (This year there was 6 essays and 1 MPT question; however this is subject to change)

The MBE portion of the exam will be giving on Wednesday.

On each day, there will be three hours of testing in the morning and three hours of testing in the afternoon.

Business Organizations (Corporations, Partnerships, Associations and Sole Proprietorships)
Civil Procedure (Pleading and Practice, and Jurisdiction of Courts)
Commercial Law (including Sales, Secured Transactions, and Negotiable Instruments)
Constitutional Law (Federal)
Contracts
Criminal Law & Procedure
Evidence
Family Law (Domestic Relations)
Professional Responsibility (Ethics and Legal Responsibilities of the Profession)
Property (includes Real Estate)
Taxation (Federal)
Torts
Trusts & Estates

A total of 258 points (essay plus MBE) is required for passing.

All essay scores have an equal impact. A standardized essay score is then expressed using the standard deviation method.
